Ours is a rural College at the remotest place in Kendrapara District, Odisha. It came into being in the year 1981 with the active support, co-operation and contribution of many peasants, common man, elites, educationists and political leaders to provide higher education facility at the door step of this local people especially who belong to the marginalized sections of our society. Around 70% of our student are girls. Simply speaking our institution has been providing opportunity for rural poor girls to persue higher education since its inception. All credit goes to this rural people who had contributed their land to shelter this rural almamater. Being a cyclone and flood prone locale it has been taking all this pains (losses) in its stride to reach at its present position. Biju Pattanaik College, Antei is the brain-child of renowned statesman, most popular ex-Chief Minister of Odisha, Late Shri Biju Pattanaik who had contributed the initial funds for its establishment. All credit goes to Banabihari Yuvak Sangha particularly the people of Antei village. Till date our institution has produced around 5000 graduates who have won laurels in their respective fields. It has produced doctors, engineers, architectures, entrepreneurs & many more. The guide and guardian of this locality notably Late Shri Nidhi Charan Tripathy, who was the founding Secretary, contributed a lot for the proper growth and development of this institution. Despite all odds the institution has successfully completed forty-five years of journey providing higher education facility to the children of rural have-nots. Last but not the least, our Ex-Chief Minister Late Shri Biju Pattanaik remained life-long President of its Governing Body. Needless to say that the College has successfully completed the first cycle of NAAC accreditation process in 2016 with ‘B’ Grade. And it is wailing to add more feathers to its glorious journey in the coming days, if it is funded handsomely
